A TRIP TO LAS VEGAS

A TRIP TO LAS VEGAS

I learnt through reading, that the city of Las Vegas is one of the richest cities in the U.S. And that, the city is known more for beautiful buildings and breathtaking lightning, casinos, gambling and scarlet women. What an identity.

What has Las Vegas got in common with today’s church?

The church today are beautiful edifices, but, has become a casino, “Sow millions and reap millions”. Believers are compelled, and incited to give to reap double or triple folds, turning the church to a casino and believers, gamblers.

Another resemblance of Las Vegas and the church is been promoted by women believers. Women believers are now competing with the scarlet women. The church is now worst than strip clubs. Our women have over stretched their freedom in Christ unto foolishness. The aggressive exposition and competition of Fashion, hairstyles, facial paintings, boobs, cleavages, anuses and laps in God’s sanctuary is disturbing and disheartening.
Is this what Christ taught us?

Let’s search the scripture to know what it says about  GIVING  and “DRESSING”

Giving; Read Luke 10:25-37,Acts 10:1-4 and 2 Kings 4:8-17.
The Samaritan, Cornelius and the Shunnamite woman gave, not by the incitement of any pastor, but they gave with a sense of responsibility and obligation. They gave not holding God at ransom for reward. In giving, God looks at the motive, the intent of our hearts, and not the amount of money.

The motive behind our giving gives credence to, or defiles the gift. We don’t give to God as if he is indebted to us, rather we are indebted to him. He gave his only son, what gift is greater than that? Don’t hold God to ransom. Giving for a Christian, is meant to be our nature, a responsibility and an obligation. It is true worship of God. Therefore excel in giving with a righteous motive.

Dressing; Read 1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 6:19-20,1Tim 2:9-10,1 Peter 3:1-6.
Our sisters must first understand that their bodies are the temple of God. Our bodies are sacred, valuable and must be kept holy. Because of the sacredness of our body, the scripture recommends our dressing to meet these requirements; DECENCY,MODESTY, PROPRIETY and GOOD DEED.

  • Does exposing dresses make us decent?
  • Does expensive and elaborate dressing, make ups and jewelleries make us modest?
Advice yourself.

We must begin to get our spiritual priorities right. The time is critical.
